Post-Match Reactions from Czechia

Our journalist spoke with Czechia head coach Giannis Athanasopoulos, who expressed his happiness with the team’s performance. He described the first two sets as nearly perfect, with only one attacking error. In the third set, he noted that Thailand pushed them to their limits, but he was proud of how the team overcame the challenge during difficult moments. Athanasopoulos emphasized that the team deserved the victory.

Looking ahead to their next match against Japan, the coach highlighted how today’s game was excellent preparation. He explained that they are not accustomed to playing against such a fast-paced style with numerous combinations, which is similar to Japan’s approach. He said the team is looking forward to the challenge tomorrow.

Czech libero Daniela Digrinova also shared her thoughts with our journalist. She expressed her happiness with the win, acknowledging that it was their third match of the week, and fatigue is beginning to set in. She praised the team’s resilience in the third set, where a challenge caused a significant pause, allowing Thailand to fight back. However, Czechia fought until the end and came out victorious.

Digrinova also noted the challenges of playing against Thailand’s unique Asian style of volleyball, which involves fast combinations and quick plays. She added that today’s match served as excellent preparation for their next opponent, Japan.
