Paris 2024 Volleyball Qualifier Format: Things to Know

The FIVB Road to Paris Olympic volleyball qualification event will take place on September 16-24, 2023, where six Olympic quota places out of twelve will be contested.

Three qualification tournaments of eight teams each will be held in China, Japan, and Poland for the highest-ranked 24 women’s teams, with the top two teams in each pool’s standings securing a place at Paris 2024. Each pool will play a single round-robin format.

Hosts China, Japan and Poland will be placed at Pool A, B and C respectively, and the remaining 21 teams are allocated to 7 pots based on their world rankings as of 1 January 2023, where every pot will have a team drawn to Pool A, B and C (i.e. each pool will consist of 1 team per pot). Bracket indicate the world ranking of the team as of 1 January 2023.

Pot 1: Serbia (1), Italy (2), Brazil (3)

Pot 2: USA (4), Turkey (7), Dominician Republic (8)

Pot 3: Belgium (11), Netherlands (12), Germany (13)

Pot 4: Canada (14), Thailand (15), Bulgaria (16)

Pot 5: Puerto Rico (17), Czech Republic (18), Columbia (19)

Pot 6: Mexico (20), Argentina (22), South Korea (23)

Pot 7: Ukraine (24), Slovenia (25), Peru (26)

The drawing of lots will take place on 17 March, 2023, 12:00 UTC, and will be streamed live on the Volleyball World channel in YouTube and on VBTV.
