FIVB OQT: Ukraine Overpowers Czech Republic and Celebrates First Victory
In the opening match of September 23 at Pool A Ningbo of the FIVB Olympic Qualification Tournament, Ukraine triumphed over the Czech Republic 3-1 (12-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-15) to claim their first victory. Ukraine’s team captain, Svitlana Dorsman, led the match with a high score of 20 points, contributing significantly to the win.
In a post-match interview by our journalist, Czech Republic’s Gabriela Orvošová attributed the loss to their struggle with receiving Ukraine’s strong service, while also acknowledging their own subpar serving. She praised to Ukraine’s excellent receiving and defensive skills.
Our team also interviewed Ukraine’s Oleksandra Milenko, who expressed joy over the victory, describing it as a valuable experience and a step for their young team. When asked about prospects for their next match, Milenko admitted to the team’s fatigue but assured that they would strive to put forth a strong performance against Mexico in the upcoming game.
