Bangkok, Thailand to Host 2024 VNL Finals

Volleyball World announced on February 2, 2024, that Bangkok, Thailand, has been chosen as the host city for the 2024 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Finals. The event is scheduled to take place at the renowned Indoor Stadium Huamark, marking a historic first for Thailand in hosting the VNL Finals.

The Indoor Stadium Huamark is no stranger to international volleyball events, having served as the venue for the preliminary round pools of the VNL in 2018, 2019, and 2023. Additionally, it was the site of the 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix Finals — the women’s VNL’s predecessor.

With the privilege of hosting comes the assurance of participation; thus, Thailand will automatically secure a place in the 2024 VNL Finals. They will be joined by the top seven teams from the preliminary rounds (excluding Thailand). These elite squads will vie for the title in the highly anticipated annual volleyball championship. The competition is set to unfold over four days, from June 20 to June 23.

Since the VNL’s inception in 2018, Thailand has been a consistent competitor in every iteration of the event. The team achieved its most notable success in the 2022 edition, where they reached the final round and concluded the tournament in 8th place.

For the upcoming VNL 2024, Team Thailand will embark on their journey starting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, during the first week. Subsequent weeks will see them competing in Macau, China, and Hong Kong, China, for the second and third weeks of the preliminary round, respectively.
