VNL 2023: Türkiye 6th Victory after 3-1 Dominican R

In the final day of week 2 pool 3 in Hong Kong, Türkiye secured their 6th victory in 8 matches by defeating Dominican Republic 3-1 (25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20). Türkiye’s opposite player, Vargas, scored an impressive 29 points in just four sets, contributing significantly to her team’s win.

After the match, the coach of Dominican Republic, Marcos Kwiek, expressed his disappointment with the match results. He stated that his team made a lot of mistakes in important moments, particularly in blocking and marking, which they had prepared for extensively before the match. However, he acknowledged that both teams played well and it was a closely contested match. He added that although he is not happy with the result, his team will be ready for their next match.

Dominican Republic ended week 2 with 1 win in 4 games, bringing their overall record to 3 wins in 8 matches. Despite facing tough opponents, Kwiek believes that his team had some good matches in week 2. He acknowledged that the VNL is a challenging competition, but his team will continue to work hard and strive to improve their performance.

Meanwhile, team Türkiye had a successful week, winning three out of four matches, including their victory against Dominican Republic on the final day of the week.
