Post-Match Reactions

Our journalist interviewed Italian middle blocker Linda Nwakalor, who described the match as tough but praised her team’s preparation and performance. She noted that it was initially difficult to find their rhythm, but they improved as the match progressed. Looking ahead to their matches against Japan and China, she said the team would focus on their own game and give 100% effort to face the tough challenges ahead.

Italian middle blocker Sarah Fahr also commented on the match, expressing happiness with the team’s performance. She explained that playing against Thailand was difficult due to their unique playing style, quick combinations, and fast attacks, which were challenging for Italy’s taller players to block. However, she credited Italy’s strong serving for disrupting Thailand’s game plan and praised the younger players for their contributions on the court.

Fahr also spoke about the upcoming match against Japan, noting similarities in playing style between Japan and Thailand, such as fast-paced play and quick attacking. She acknowledged Japan’s strong start to the VNL and said the team would rest and prepare for another tough match.

When asked about playing three consecutive matches, Fahr admitted it was challenging but said they were accustomed to the demands of the VNL. She emphasized the importance of securing wins to qualify for the finals and mentioned that their depth allowed for player rotations when needed.

Our journalist also interviewed Thai head coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai. He congratulated Italy on their win and thanked his players for doing their best and showing the spirit of volleyball. He expressed gratitude to Thai fans, both in the arena and around the world, and said the team would continue to fight and give their best in the remaining two matches.
