Anne Buijs Announces a Break from Netherlands National Team

The Dutch Federation announced that Anne Buijs would not play for the Netherlands national team in 2023, after the Dutch captain spoke to the new head coach Felix Koslowski.

The player said although it is an honor to play for the national team, the past few years have been very intense for her, and thus she chose to take a step back.

Although the Dutch outside hitter is unavailable for now, she is not closing the door 100%, meaning there is a chance she will return to the national team in the future.

The team’s head coach Koslowski said the door would remain open for her to return.

Anne Buijs is one of the most successful players in the Netherlands, having played 321 games for the team since her debut at the age of 16 in May 2008.
